Lisa is a Reading Instructor at The Frostig School in Pasadena, CA, where she teaches elementary and middle school students with learning challenges that include ADD, autism and dyslexia. Although her background is law, she transitioned to special education when her youngest child struggled in school due to various learning difficulties. She homeschooled him for 5 years, discovering the power of structured literacy firsthand. Her passion for teaching other struggling students led her to more formalized training in the Wilson Reading System, which she implemented during her first year teaching at Frostig.
She is currently working towards her certification through The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. She and her husband are also co-founders of a non-profit organization transitioning young adults with autism into corporate employment.
