Amy graduated with her bachelors in Communication Disorders and a minor in Special Education from the University of Oregon. She received her masters in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of the Pacific. As a speech language pathologist, she has worked primarily with cognitive, language and speech disorders in the hospital, clinical and now public school setting with ages birth to adult. Currently, she works with junior high students focusing on language, literacy and speech disorders.
Her interest working with dyslexia began following her boys receiving the diagnosis and having difficulty finding evidence based structured literacy intervention. To further her knowledge in this area, she has taken graduate level classes through Massachusetts General Hospital Institute’s Advanced Study in Literacy and Language and is currently finishing her Orton Gillingham Associates certification as an instructor.
