Examine the Research Discussion (RSVP)

Saturday, October 17

Vocabulary learning is a critical element in the development of literacy skills, and the gap in vocabulary knowledge is one of the the greatest challenges struggling learners face. The Summer 2015 edition of Perspectives on Language and Literacy: "Vocabulary Research Meets the Classroom" includes an excellent collection of articles tackling the scope of this important topic, ranging from investigations of what vocabulary is necessary at different age levels to addressing the current trends and best practices for effective vocabulary instruction and assessment. Join us for a discussion about how to apply the information and findings in these articles to supporting and instructing our students in the area of vocabulary.
